Just a teaser

This is the dining room of the Vegas house I had the photoshoot at. The photographer was incredible, and I hope that I can work with him again. This lovely picture was taken with my phone, not too bad, but John's version will definitely be better. The photoshoot is for an upcoming article in the July issue of Nashville Home and Garden. Be sure to pick up a copy!

Amanda Burdge Nashville Designer on shopping in Vegas

One of my favorite things to do in Las Vegas is walk through all the casinos and shops to see and experience good design. Everything in Vegas is big, extravagant, decadent and over the top! This is a small clothing store in the Venetian Hotel. Their chandelier spanned the entire length of the store and exploded into a large diameter over the mannequins. What an eye popping display, and everyone who walked by noticed the sparkle!

Globalshop 2009 by Nashville Designer Amanda Burdge

Globalshop was a bit of a disappointment this year. The displays were great but fewer than normal. The discussion on everyones tongues was the economy. Many manufacturers did smaller displays and most did not produce the eye candy like they had in past shows. Despite a smaller show and a lot less bling than normal, I did enjoy the spirit of the exhibitors and attendees. All were filled with excitement for the upcoming year; or maybe it was the fact that we were in Las Vegas the city filled with hope anf faith. And if you leave Vegas without either it doesnt matter, because what happens here stays here, and then you go home.

Celebrating Spring by designer Amanda Burdge

As we approach Spring many of us start to celebrate. After all, the sun is finally out, and the days of rain are fewer and fewer. Thank goodness! Weddings and birthdays are the biggest celebrations of all. At AB HOME we love to celebrate. We don't even need a reason. If it includes cake and bubbly, thats good enough reason to celebrate. But one of our favorite party favors are our 6" parafin candles. With an assortment of bright colors and a burn time of 50 minutes, these candles will brighten any celebration in more ways than one. Available in aqua, lime, orange, pink, purple, red, and white. candle: 6"h x .25" dia. box: 6"h x 1.5"w
